§ 103394 Construction Manager Definitions

• •The statute only provides definitions; it doesn’t create new rules.
• •“CMGC” means the method described in subdivision (b) of Section 6951 of the Public Contract Code.
• •“Construction manager” means the role described in subdivision (c) of Section 6951 of the Public Contract Code.
• •These definitions became effective on January 1, 2014.

A city plans to build a new library and decides to use the CMGC method to run the project.

Because the law defines CMGC and construction manager, the city knows exactly which rules apply when they hire a construction manager and a general contractor together.
