§ 103226 District Contractor Services

• •The district can enter into contracts with outside firms or people.
• •Those hired are independent contractors, not district staff.
• •The law gives the district flexibility to get services without hiring permanent employees.

The school district hires a private company to fix the roofs on its schools.

Because of this law, the district can sign a contract with the roofing company even though the workers are not district employees.
