§ 101251 Public Budget Hearing Notice

• •The board can't approve the budget without holding a public meeting first.
• •They have to tell the public about the meeting at least 15 days before it happens.
• •The notice about the meeting must be published in a way that follows another law (Section 6061 of the Government Code).

Imagine your school wants to spend money on new computers and books next year.

Before the school board can say 'yes' to the plan, they must hold a meeting where parents and teachers can come and ask questions or give their opinions. The school must also put up a notice about this meeting at least 15 days before it happens, so everyone knows when and where to go.
