§ 412 Officer Funds Accountability Duty

This law says that if you're in charge of government or company money or stuff, you have to give it to the right person when asked. If you don't, you're responsible for anything missing.

Key Takeaways

  • •If you're in charge of money or stuff for the government or a company, you have to give it to the right person when asked.
  • •If you don't hand it over, you're responsible for anything that's missing.
  • •This applies to people like supply officers who manage equipment.

Example

A supply officer at a military base is in charge of all the equipment. When it's time to leave their job, they don't hand over all the equipment to the new officer.

The supply officer would be responsible for any missing equipment because they didn't hand everything over like they were supposed to.
