§ 327 Active Duty Health Benefits

• •Health care benefits begin 30 days after being called to active duty.
• •Applies to officers, warrant officers, and enlisted personnel on active duty for the state.
• •The benefit is triggered by the start of active duty service.

A state National Guard soldier is activated to help during a natural disaster and serves for several months.

After 30 days of that activation, the soldier becomes eligible for state health care benefits, just like a regular employee who gets benefits after a waiting period.
