§ 104 Interstate Wage Claim Enforcement

This law lets California's Labor Commissioner help workers from other states get their unpaid wages if their own state helps California workers too.

Key Takeaways

  • •California can help workers from other states get their unpaid wages.
  • •The other state must also help California workers in the same way.
  • •The help is only for cases where the boss or company is in California.

Example

A worker from Nevada didn't get paid for their last month of work. Nevada asks California for help because the boss lives in California.

California will help get the worker's money, but only if Nevada would do the same for a California worker.
