§ 9003 Public Cemetery District Authority

Key Takeaways

  • •This law lets public cemetery districts exist and have powers.
  • •Old cemetery districts from before 2004 can keep running like normal.
  • •Mistakes or small errors in old rules or actions by these districts won’t make them invalid.

Example

A town has had a public cemetery district since 1950. In 2003, they forgot to file some paperwork the right way.

Even if they made a small mistake before 2004, the district can still keep operating, and their old rules or decisions won’t be canceled just because of that mistake.
