§ 8253 Corporate Powers Modification

Key Takeaways

  • •This law says that all businesses in the state must follow the rules in this part of the law, even if their own business papers say something different.
  • •It doesn’t matter if a business is big or small, or what kind of business it is—they all have to follow these rules.
  • •If a business’s own rules don’t match the state’s rules, the state’s rules win.

Example

A small bakery has a rule in its papers that says it doesn’t have to give breaks to workers.

If the state law says all workers must get breaks, the bakery has to follow the state law, even if its own papers say something else.
