§ 80855 State Agency Insurance Exemption

Key Takeaways

  • •The government and its workers are not acting like insurance companies or selling insurance.
  • •They don’t need to follow the usual insurance rules or get special licenses.
  • •This law makes it clear they’re not in the insurance business, even if they do things that might seem like it.

Example

If the state helps people after a big storm by giving money to fix homes, they’re not acting like an insurance company.

Even though they’re helping with money, they don’t have to follow insurance rules or get a license because this law says they’re not selling insurance.
