§ 52503 Policy Committee Membership Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •The policy committee has 5 voting members, including a chairperson.
  • •The chairperson is the State Treasurer or someone they choose.
  • •Other members include specific people from the board, like the chairperson and members picked by the Governor.
  • •If someone is missing from the board, the Governor can pick someone else to fill the spot for 6 years.

Example

Imagine a school club where the leader is the school's money manager. The club has 5 voting members, including the leader. The other members are the club president, a member picked by the principal, and two other members. If the principal didn't pick anyone, the principal would choose someone else to join the club for a long time.

This law sets up a special group (the policy committee) with specific people in charge. The leader is the State Treasurer, and the other members are important people from a bigger group (the board). If someone is missing, the Governor can pick a replacement.
