§ 50826 Consolidated Plan Definitions

Key Takeaways

  • •This law is about a plan to help cities and towns get money from the government to build affordable homes and improve neighborhoods.
  • •Only small towns and cities (not big ones) can get this money.
  • •The money is for people and families who don't make a lot of money—less than 80% of what most people in the area earn.
  • •The government announces when money is available, and cities have to apply for it.

Example

A small town wants to build a new park and fix up old houses for families who don't earn much money.

The town can apply for money from the government using this plan. If they get the money, they can use it to make the park and fix the houses for families who need cheaper places to live.
