§ 50760 Local Housing Inspection Authority

Imagine the government helped pay for a big apartment building to be built. One day, they hear that the building has some problems, like broken stairs or mold.

The government can go into the building to check what’s wrong, even look at the records of how the building was made or fixed. If they find problems, they can tell the owner to fix them to keep the people living there safe. But if they need to go into someone’s apartment, they have to follow the rules, like giving notice first.
