§ 44280 Carl Moyer Air Quality Grants

Key Takeaways

  • •This program gives money to help pay for projects that reduce air pollution in California.
  • •The money can be used for things like cleaner trucks, buses, or equipment that don’t pollute as much.
  • •The program also helps build new fuel stations (like electric charging stations) and supports new clean-air technology.
  • •The program ends on January 1, 2034, unless the government decides to keep it going.

Example

A trucking company wants to replace old, polluting trucks with new electric trucks.

The company can apply for a grant from this program to help cover the extra cost of buying the electric trucks instead of cheaper, polluting ones. This helps keep the air cleaner.

The infrastructure demonstration and technology development portions of the program shall be managed by the commission, in consultation with the state board. (d) This section shall remain in effect only until January 1, 2034, and as of that date is repealed, unless a later enacted statute, that is enacted before January 1, 2034, deletes or extends that date.
