§ 44059 False Statements Perjury

Key Takeaways

  • •Lying on official forms or documents is a big deal.
  • •This includes things like oaths, certificates, or applications required by law.
  • •If you lie about important stuff on these forms, it’s like lying in court and you can get punished.
  • •The punishment is the same as for perjury, which is a serious crime.

Example

You fill out a form to get a business license and lie about having the right training.

If you say you finished a required course when you didn’t, that’s breaking this law. You could get in trouble, just like if you lied in court.
