§ 43868 Clean Hydrogen Production Goals

Key Takeaways

  • •California wants to build hydrogen fuel stations in a way that's good for the environment.
  • •The state wants to make hydrogen from clean sources like wind or solar power, not dirty ones like oil.
  • •They especially want to use hydrogen fuel for buses to make the air cleaner.
  • •They might study how to make even more hydrogen from clean energy in the future.

Example

Imagine your city is replacing old, smoky buses with new ones that run on hydrogen fuel.

The law says California wants these buses to use hydrogen made from clean energy, like wind or solar power, instead of dirty fuel like gasoline. This helps keep the air clean and reduces pollution.
