§ 41752 Portable Equipment Emission Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •The state must check how much pollution comes from portable equipment (like generators or construction tools) and find ways to reduce it.
  • •They have to set rules for how much pollution these machines can make and offer a voluntary sign-up program for owners.
  • •Owners can pay a fee to register their equipment, which helps cover the cost of running the program.
  • •The rules can be updated over time to keep up with better ways to control pollution.

Example

A construction company uses a portable generator on different job sites.

The company can choose to register the generator with the state. If they do, they’ll have to follow pollution rules, like using cleaner fuel or special filters, and pay a fee to help cover the cost of the program.
