§ 41353 Antelope Valley Staff Transition

Key Takeaways

  • •Workers from the old Antelope Valley Air Pollution Control District automatically got jobs in the new Antelope Valley district on January 1, 2002.
  • •These workers kept the same jobs and duties they had before.
  • •Most workers became permanent employees with job protection.
  • •Workers had time until July 1, 2002, to switch to other county jobs if they wanted.

Example

Imagine you worked at a local office that checked air pollution in Antelope Valley. In 2002, that office became part of a bigger district.

You didn’t lose your job—you just kept working in the same role but for the new district. If you didn’t like the change, you had until mid-2002 to find another job in the county.
