§ 40273 Bay District Tax Liens

Key Takeaways

  • •Taxes for the bay district are like a bill tied to your property.
  • •If you don’t pay, the county can make you pay, just like with regular taxes.
  • •This rule applies to all property in the bay district area.

Example

You own a house near the bay, and the county sends you a tax bill for bay cleanup projects.

If you don’t pay this tax, the county can take the same steps to collect it as they would for your regular property taxes, like adding fees or even selling your house to get the money.
