§ 40126 County Employee Certification Waiver

Key Takeaways

  • •If you already work for the county or a city in a job that's a lot like a job in the county's air pollution department, you might not have to take a test to switch jobs.
  • •The air pollution boss can ask the civil service commission to say you're qualified for the new job without taking a test.
  • •This only works if your current job is pretty much the same as the new job, or your current job requires more skills than the new job.

Example

Imagine you work for the city as a person who checks if factories are polluting the air. There's a similar job open in the county's air pollution department.

Your boss in the air pollution department can ask the civil service commission to say you're qualified for the county job without taking a test, because your current job is a lot like the new one.
