§ 34293 Local Housing Authority Transition

Key Takeaways

  • •A city or county can decide to stop being in charge of a housing group they created.
  • •If they stop, the mayor or the city/county leaders must pick new people to run the housing group.
  • •Once new people are picked, the old housing group stops working.

Example

Imagine your city has a group that takes care of building houses for people who need them. The city leaders decide they don’t want to be in charge of this group anymore.

The city leaders pass a rule saying they’re quitting. Then, the mayor has to pick new people to run the housing group. Once the new people are picked, the old group stops doing its job.
