§ 33335 Redevelopment Property Disposal Rules

• •The agency must lease or sell any land it buys in a project area.
• •The agency can give some land to the community without selling or leasing it.
• •This rule was added in 1963.

A city agency buys an old empty lot to build new houses and shops.

The agency has to either rent out or sell the lot to someone who will build on it. But if they want to make a park for the neighborhood, they can just give that land to the community instead.
