§ 25210 Toxic Chemical Toilet Ban

Key Takeaways

  • •You can't use harmful chemicals that don't break down in toilets or waste systems in RVs, boats, or portable toilets.
  • •You also can't sell these harmful chemicals if the label says they can be used in those places.
  • •The government made rules by 1978 to say which chemicals are bad and how selling them is limited.

Example

You own a boat and need to clean the toilet.

If you use a strong cleaner that doesn't break down and is toxic, you're breaking the law. Even if a store sells it saying it's for boat toilets, they're not allowed to do that.
