§ 2051 District Travel Expense Reimbursement

Key Takeaways

  • •School districts can pay for board members and employees to go to work-related meetings or training.
  • •They can cover travel costs like gas, hotels, and food while they're away for official school business.
  • •This money is extra and doesn't replace their regular pay.
  • •There are rules about how much they can spend, and they have to follow state government guidelines.

Example

A teacher needs to go to a science conference in another city to learn new teaching methods.

The school district can pay for the teacher's trip, like their plane ticket, hotel room, and meals. This is allowed because it's for work and helps the teacher do a better job. The school just has to make sure they don't spend too much and follow the state's rules.
