§ 19836 Performance Security Release Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •If you give something valuable (like money) to promise you'll do a job, you get it back right after you finish the job.
  • •The people in charge can give you part of it back if you finish part of the job, following their rules.
  • •You don’t have to wait forever to get your stuff back once you’ve done what you promised.

Example

You give your school $100 to promise you’ll paint the gym walls. After you finish painting, you get your $100 back.

The school holds your $100 to make sure you paint the gym. Once you’re done and they’re happy with the work, they give your money back right away.
