• •If they change the rules later, they must send the updates too.
• •This is just to keep the state informed—it doesn’t mean the state approves or checks the rules.

A city decides that old brick buildings need to be strengthened so they don’t collapse in an earthquake.

The city must send a copy of their new safety rules to the state housing department. If they later decide to add more safety checks, they have to send those updates too.
