§ 18107 Manufactured Home Tax Liability

Key Takeaways

  • •If you sell your mobile home, you won’t have to pay extra taxes or fees after the sale if you do two things: give the title to the new owner and send a notice to the housing department.
  • •You must fill out and send a special form to the Department of Housing and Community Development to tell them about the sale.
  • •This rule only applies to the person listed as the owner, legal owner, or someone with a lien on the mobile home.
  • •This law doesn’t add any extra work for the owner beyond what’s already required by other laws.

Example

You sell your old mobile home to your neighbor.

After selling it, you give the title to your neighbor and mail a notice to the housing department. Now, you won’t have to pay any more taxes or fees on that home after the sale date.
