§ 16021 Construction Inspection Reports

Key Takeaways

  • •Builders and inspectors must check the work often to make sure it matches the approved plans.
  • •They have to write reports saying the work and materials are correct based on what they saw.
  • •Inspectors must see the work themselves or get reports from others if work is done off-site.
  • •Builders must know what’s happening on their site and make sure everything is done right.

Example

A contractor is building a new house and the inspector visits the site.

The contractor and inspector must write a report saying the walls, pipes, and wiring were built exactly like the plans showed. If the inspector sees something wrong, like weak beams, they have to note it in the report.
