§ 1438 Long-Term Care Enforcement Review

Key Takeaways

  • •The state checks if nursing homes and similar places are doing a good job taking care of people.
  • •Every year, the state must write a report about how well they’re checking these places and if the care is good.
  • •The report is due by December 1st each year and covers what happened in the past year.
  • •If the state thinks new rules are needed to make care better, they can suggest them in the report.

Example

A nursing home where some patients aren’t getting their medicine on time.

The state will look into this nursing home, see if they’re following the rules, and write about it in their yearly report. If they think the rules need to be stronger to stop this from happening, they’ll say so in the report.
