§ 13071 Firescope Firefighting Coordination

Key Takeaways

  • •California has a special program called FIRESCOPE to help firefighters work together better during big fires.
  • •FIRESCOPE helps different fire departments share tools, people, and plans so they can fight fires faster and smarter.
  • •The program also looks for new ways to improve firefighting, like better tools or training.

Example

A big wildfire starts in a forest and spreads to nearby towns. Many different fire departments need to work together to stop it.

FIRESCOPE helps all these fire departments share their trucks, firefighters, and plans so they don’t get in each other’s way and can put out the fire quicker.
