§ 118405 Clean Packing Material Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •Dirty or germy packing materials can't be used for food or other stuff.
  • •They must be cleaned and disinfected first.
  • •The cleaning must be good enough for the Department of Food and Agriculture or a health officer.

Example

A farm packs apples in dirty boxes that have old food and germs on them.

The farm can't use those boxes until they clean and disinfect them really well. If they don't, they could get in trouble.
