§ 114256 Employee Eating And Storage Areas

Key Takeaways

  • •Workers must eat and drink in special areas to keep food and kitchen stuff clean.
  • •Lockers or storage for workers' things must be in a separate place so they don’t make food or kitchen tools dirty.
  • •These rules help stop germs from getting on food or things used to serve food.

Example

A restaurant worker puts their bag and jacket in a locker in the kitchen.

This is not allowed because the locker is too close to where food is made. The worker’s bag or jacket could have dirt or germs that get on the food or plates.
