§ 112175 Shellfish Harvesting Regulations

Key Takeaways

  • •You can't sell or harvest shellfish (like clams or oysters) from the wild unless you follow special rules.
  • •There are specific places and ways you're allowed to do this, set by the government.
  • •If you want to grow or sell shellfish, you need to check the rules first.

Example

You find a bunch of clams at the beach and want to sell them at a local market.

You can't just take and sell them. You need to make sure the beach is an approved place and that you follow the rules for cleaning and selling them. If you don't, you're breaking the law.
