§ 112075 Bottle Cleaning License Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •You need a special license to clean and sterilize bottles for resale.
  • •The license is only for you—you can't give it to someone else.
  • •Factories that make food, drugs, or alcohol don’t need this license if they’re just using bottles for their own products.
  • •If you clean bottles to sell them to factories, you *do* need this license.

Example

A small business collects empty soda bottles, washes them, and sells them back to soda companies.

This business must get a license from the health department to prove they clean the bottles safely. If they don’t get the license, they’re breaking the law.
