This law says you can only offer radon testing or fixing services to the public if you have a proper certification and keep it up to date.

Key Takeaways

  • •You must finish an approved radon certification program before you can advertise radon services.
  • •You have to send the state a copy of your certificate after you get it.
  • •You must renew the certification every two years and give the state a fresh copy at least 14 days before doing any radon work.

Example

A homeowner calls a company to test the radon level in their house.

The company must first finish an approved radon certification program, send a copy of that certificate to the state department, renew the certification every two years, and give the department a current copy at least 14 days before they go to the house to do the test.
