§ 104300 Blindness Prevention Program

The state health department has to run a program that works to stop people from becoming blind.

Key Takeaways

  • •The department must study how many people are at risk of blindness and why.
  • •It must investigate the causes so it can find ways to stop them.
  • •It works with local groups to teach people, find eye problems early, and use methods that keep blindness from happening.

Example

A community health center teams up with the department to teach families about eye safety and to check kids' eyes early.

The department helps the center give lessons and eye checks so problems can be found early and treated before they cause blindness.
