§ 101380 City Health Officer Services

This law says a city can start getting help from the county health officer on July 1 after it sends a notice by March 1, and it can keep that help forever until the city sends another notice by March 1 to stop it, which ends on the next July 1.

Key Takeaways

  • •Notice must be sent on or before March 1.
  • •The health officer’s services start on the first day of July after the notice.
  • •The services keep going until the city sends a new notice (again by March 1) to end them.
  • •When the city ends the services, they stop on the first day of July after that notice.

Example

A city wants the county health officer to run food‑safety checks at local restaurants.

The city sends a signed notice to the board of supervisors before March 1. The county health officer begins the checks on July 1. If the city later decides it no longer needs the checks, it sends another notice before the next March 1, and the officer stops working on the following July 1.
