§ 101025 County Public Health Authority

This law says county supervisors must act to keep people healthy in the parts of the county that aren't inside a city, and they can make local rules and pay for enforcing them.

Key Takeaways

  • •County supervisors have to protect public health in unincorporated areas.
  • •They can write local ordinances, regulations, or orders as long as they don’t conflict with higher‑level laws.
  • •The county must pay for any costs needed to enforce those rules.

Example

A rural area of the county has a well that might be polluted.

The county supervisors can order the well to be tested, create rules about how the water must be treated, and use county money to make sure those rules are followed.
