§ 703 Director'S Licensing Authority

(a) The director may, in accordance with the State Civil Service Act (commencing with Section 18500 of the Government Code), select, employ, and fix the compensation of such employees as may be necessary properly to administer this article, provided that no employee of the department shall have an interest for financial or other personal gain in the business of a licensed broker as director, stockholder, officer, member, agent, salesman, or employee. (b) The director may prescribe the duties of all employees. (c) The director may regulate and control the issuance, denial, suspension, and revocation, both temporary and permanent, of the licenses issued under this article. (d) The director may perform all other acts and duties necessary for the proper enforcement of this article. (e) The director may institute proceedings in any court of competent jurisdiction to enforce the provisions of this article by injunction or otherwise. (f) The director or any member of the department may administer oaths for the purpose of executing this article. (g) The director may prescribe rules and regulations to carry this article into effect in accordance with Chapter 4.5 (commencing with Section 11371) of Part 1 of Division 3 of Title 2 of the Government Code, and may authorize the department to establish branch offices in such other cities as may be necessary for the proper administration of this article.
