§ 7022 Single City District Formation

This law says that if a new district is entirely within one city, the city's clerk and leaders handle the setup process instead of the county.

Key Takeaways

  • •If a new district is only inside one city, the city is in charge of setting it up.
  • •The city clerk and city leaders follow the same steps as the county would.
  • •This makes it easier for the city to manage local changes.

Example

A neighborhood in Los Angeles wants to create a special district for better parks.

Instead of the county handling the paperwork and meetings, the city clerk and city council of Los Angeles will do it all.
