§ 1136 Pilot Financial Reporting Requirements

This law says a licensed pilot must swear an official oath and must send a monthly, checked list of all money they get from piloting work.

Key Takeaways

  • •Take the oath of office the way the law says.
  • •Every month, give the board a verified list of all money earned from pilotage services or any other source related to the pilot.
  • •Use the specific forms that the board provides for the report.

Example

A harbor pilot helps a cargo ship enter the port and gets paid $2,000 for the job.

The pilot has to first take the required oath, then each month fill out the board’s form and list that $2,000 (and any other money they earned) so the board knows exactly what they were paid.
