§ 9700 Legislative Printing Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •The Legislature (the people who make laws) has rules for printing things like reports or documents.
  • •These rules stay the same even after the Legislature takes a break, until they make new rules when they come back.
  • •The rules apply to anything printed for the Legislature or charged to their printing budget.

Example

The Legislature wants to print 100 copies of a new law report.

They have to follow their own printing rules, like how many copies to make or how much it can cost. Even if they’re on a break, the old rules still apply until they make new ones.
