Key Takeaways

  • •The authority can hire people like financial advisers, accountants, or engineers to help with their work.
  • •People who work for the authority are not considered employees of the government.
  • •The authority can hire lawyers to help with their work, including lawyers for bond-related issues.
  • •A lawyer or financial adviser working for a company cannot also work for the authority on the same project.

Example

A city wants to build a new park and needs help with money and legal stuff.

The city can hire a financial adviser to help with the money and a lawyer to help with the legal stuff. But if the financial adviser is already working for the company building the park, they can't also work for the city on the same project.
