§ 8889 Broadband Council Public Meetings

Key Takeaways

  • •The council must follow open meeting rules, meaning their meetings are public and transparent.
  • •The council must let groups like community members or businesses share their thoughts on internet access at their regular meetings.
  • •They can also hold extra meetings, like public hearings or discussions, to get more input if they want.

Example

If the council is planning where to put new internet towers in a town, they must hold a public meeting to let people in the town share their opinions.

The council can't make decisions about internet access in secret. They have to listen to what people think and let everyone know when and where they are meeting.
