§ 75527 Benefit Limits Under Irs Code

Key Takeaways

  • •The money you get from benefits can't be more than what the tax rules allow.
  • •Even if other rules say you can get more, the tax rules are the final say.
  • •This rule has been around since 1994.

Example

You get money from a retirement plan.

The amount you get can't be more than what the tax rules say is okay. If the plan says you can get $10,000, but the tax rules say only $8,000 is allowed, you'll only get $8,000.
