§ 7490 Customer Rights Waiver Prohibition

Key Takeaways

  • •You can't give up your rights under this law, even if you sign something saying you do.
  • •This rule applies to many areas like businesses, banks, insurance, and cars.
  • •It doesn’t matter if you say it out loud or write it down—you still keep your rights.

Example

You sign a paper at a car dealership that says you won’t complain if the car is broken.

That paper doesn’t count. You can still complain and ask for your rights under the law.
