§ 72190 Commissioner Court Powers

Key Takeaways

  • •Commissioners work under judges and follow their directions.
  • •They can handle small cases like traffic tickets or small claims, just like judges.
  • •They also act as deputy clerks, meaning they help with court paperwork.

Example

You get a speeding ticket and go to court.

Instead of a judge, a commissioner might handle your case. They can make decisions just like a judge would, like telling you to pay a fine or go to traffic school.
