§ 68221 Judicial Compensation Definitions

Key Takeaways

  • •This law makes sure everyone uses the same words when talking about judges' pay and benefits.
  • •Benefits include things like retirement plans (like 401(k)) and money for training.
  • •Salary means the regular pay judges get for their work.

Example

A judge gets paid every month and also has a retirement plan.

The law says the judge's regular pay is called 'salary,' and the retirement plan is part of their 'benefits.' This keeps things clear for all judges in the state.
