§ 6525 Mutual Water Company Agreements

Key Takeaways

  • •Water companies and government groups can team up to work together on things they both do.
  • •They can also team up to share risks, like insurance, but no one has to pay for the other's debts.
  • •Any money made from this team-up must be used to help the group run and teach members how to avoid problems.

Example

A small town's water company and the city government team up to share the cost of fixing water pipes.

They make an agreement to work together and share risks, but if something goes wrong, the town doesn't have to pay the city's bills, and the city doesn't have to pay the town's bills. Any money they save or make from this team-up is used to teach everyone how to keep the water pipes safe and working well.
