§ 57327 Annexation Property Payment Exemption

Key Takeaways

  • •If a city or district grows by adding new land, they don’t have to pay for the stuff already there.
  • •This includes things like buildings, roads, or equipment that were already on the land before it became part of the city or district.
  • •The rule is about not charging extra just because the land is now part of a bigger area.

Example

A small town decides to add a nearby neighborhood to its boundaries.

The town doesn’t have to pay the neighborhood for the park or the community center that were already there. Those things just become part of the town without extra cost.
