§ 57146 Election Argument Submission Deadline

Key Takeaways

  • •There's a deadline to send in your opinion (argument) about a vote. The people in charge pick the deadline based on how long it takes to print everything.
  • •You can change your opinion until the deadline.
  • •Only one 'yes' and one 'no' opinion will be printed in the voting guide.
  • •Your opinion can't be longer than 300 words and needs up to 5 signatures.

Example

Your town is voting on whether to build a new park. You want to say why it's a good idea.

You write your opinion about the park and send it to the voting office before the deadline they set. If you change your mind, you can send a new one until the deadline. But only one 'yes' and one 'no' opinion will be printed in the guide for everyone to read.
